Greening the playgrounds
Paris is transofming school playgrounds into "oasis" to create pleasant, refreshed spaces enjoyed and shared by all. This initiative is part of the resilience strategy of Paris, adopted at the Paris Council in September 2017. The strategy aims at strengthening the Capital's capacity to deal with major climatic and social challenges of the 21st century.
Renovated school courtyards offer more natural spaces, more vegetation, better management of rainwater and water fountains, more playful and child-friendly facilities, quiet corners, and a better distribution of space. One of the primary goals of this project is to improve children's well-being.
